My Teaser
"My mom will be so disappointed after all she went through to potty train me. But once you let me live...your big mistake...now I know you think I'm too cute and fluffy to kill."
- from page 205 of Infinity (The Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
*****
At fourteen, Nick
Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him.
Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. .
.until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a
mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick
is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers
who risk everything to save humanity.
Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.
But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

Haha...what a funny, weird quote. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for the recommendation for Death Note in your comment on my blog. I'm definitely going to look it up.
I love Nick's humor! He's so geeky and wonderful as a teen...I wish he didn't grow up and, yeah, all that.
ReplyDelete(Also...Infinity was the first zombie book I ever read. Ah. Fond memories. LOL)
LOL! That was great. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso infinity sounds pretty good.

@Everyone: Thanks, all of you! It's a funny book, that's for sure.
ReplyDelete@Alison: Definitely look up Death Note! Every manga fan needs to try it out...
@BJ: I know so little about the Dark-Hunters series, so I'm not otherwise familiar with Nick, but this book hints at his future, and it doesn't look good. He really is a super cute and funny kid, so that's just sad!
Cute snippet. Potty training just doesn't come up enough in fantasy novels. :)
ReplyDelete@Lindsay: So true, lol...
