TOP TEN BOOKS I'M EXCITED TO READ IN 2012

1. Tricked (Iron Druid Chronicles, #4) by Kevin Hearne
I love this books series, and, even though I'm not all caught up with it, yet, I'm eagerly anticipating future books. The characters are simply to-die-for, and you can't beat the hilarious narrative voice of Atticus O'Sullivan (the main character).

2. Trapped (Iron Druid Chronicles, #5) by Kevin Hearne
Same as above!

3. The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa
Julie Kagawa is simply one of my favorite authors, so I will auto-buy anything she writes. This book also sounds like it will rock!

4. The Iron Fey Spinoff, #1 by Julie Kagawa
More Iron Fey, you say? I'm there will my swimsuit and fins on! I adore this series, as I adore J. Kagawa, so I pretty much CANNOT wait until this new spin-off series gets under way.

5. A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2) by Beth Revis
I have already pre-ordered this book, and will devour it as soon as I can. I loved the first book so much! Keep in mind, it's not fantasy—it's science fiction. I do love to read sci-fi sometimes, but will not review it on my blog here (unless it has fantasy elements in it).

6. Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth
The sequel to Divergent, 2011's big YA hit. I'm really excited to read more of this story. Divergent was good in ways I just can't explain. Left me speechless.

7. Such Wicked Intent (The Dark Endeavor Chronicles, #2) by Kenneth Oppel
So excited about this one! It's the sequel to This Dark Endeavor, which I so completely adored and cried over for a long time. [my review] I can't wait to see where Oppel takes this story because it's looking really good.

8. Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi
Here's one that has come out as of today, and people have already been raving over it. So, I'm looking forward to reading it, too. There's going to be a big YA hit this year, and you never know which book it will be. This one, perhaps?

9. Above by Leah Bobet
I love this cover! Wow, so pretty, and it sounds like a very interesting story, with sci-fi and fantasy elements (and romance, of course). Hopefully, this debut will be really good, too.

10. Halflings (Halflings, #1) by Heather Burch
I already have my ARC of this novel, and will be reading it later in the month (or, earlier!). I wanted it because it sounds really intriguing and mysterious, like something I'd like, anyway. Hope it's good, too!

What books are you most excited to read this year?

  3. I never know the Iron Fey series was going to have a spin off! I haven't even read the first series yet. And I'm still waiting to read the Iron Druid series as well. Under the Never Sky has been available in Australia for a few weeks now. I don't know why that is. It sounds like a great book but once again it needs to get in line!

  4. @Lan: Yeah, they all need to get in line because we all got a lotta books over here! Anyway, yeah, I'm super excited about the Iron Fey spin-off dealy, which will probably come out late 2012. It's a long way off. And, The Iron Druid Chronicles is just awesomesauce.

  7. I'm definitely looking forward to more of Atticus and Oberon. (I still have Hammered to read, but I loved the first two.) I have The Iron King in my TBR pile, so I guess I should move it up to the top soon. : )
