Book Haul Fun Time! (#12)

"Book Haul Fun Time!" is derived from the social book blogger meme,
"In My Mailbox," created by Kristi @ The Story Siren.

I've got another book haul for y'all. Why haven't I been doing these for so long until now? I seriously want to whack past-me for that. Anyway, shall we proceed...?

For Review

Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore: Got an ARC of this, although I still need to read at least the first book in the series. I will be soon enough.

Artemis Fowl, Book 1 and The Arctic Incident: Artemis Fowl, Book 2 by Eoin Colfer: NetGalley is putting these books up as review copies for anyone to read, or reread, in time for the last Artemis Fowl book's release later this year. I've never read any of these books, so I figured I'd take the opportunity.

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting: I got this in a book trade through I hope this book is good, although I've read The Pledge by Kimberly Derting and wasn't too terribly impressed by it. Isn't this one a bit more respected by her?

Giveaway Win

Across the Galaxy by Heather Hildenbrand: I actually WON this from! I'm still shocked I won a Goodreads giveaway, but it finally happened (years of waiting). I've heard some good things about this book, so I hope it lives up to it. I won the older paperback version, which has a different cover. This one up here /\ is gorgeous, isn't it?

That's my book haul for this week. What books did you haul in?

  1. I actually started Ashling and Fire but didn't finish either one of them. Not because they weren't any good, I just somehow lost interest which is probably my loss as I remember them being quite good. I've always wanted to read Artemis Fowl but middle grade doesn't really capture my imagination unless it's Harry Potter. Of course Artemis is an anti hero so that's a plus for him. Hope you enjoy all these!

    1. @Lan: I hope Graceling is a good series. I have high hopes, although I should never, right? LOL. I'm at least curious about Artemis Fowl because it's a popular series and it could be good.

  2. I bought Artemis Fowl a few months ago -- I always like to read books that are really successful, mostly out of curiosity and to educate myself on what sells. Unfortunately, I don't think I was the right audience for this series -- I got bored and quit about halfway through. :( I'm interested to see what you think of it!

    1. @Camille: Oh, really? Well, I'll have to see what I think of the books. They're worth reading, like you said, because they're popular and I might like them, after all.

  3. BITTERBLUE!!!! I am so, SO jealous that you have an ARC!! I've been trying to win a copy to no avail. x( just going to have to wait until the library has it, I guess... gah. Bitterblue was my favorite character in Graceling. <3 enjoy the series! :)

    1. @Ash: Thanks, Ash! That sucks that you haven't been able to get an ARC of Bitterblue. I totally relate since that's me most of the time, lol. Hope you get to read it somehow!
