I haven't done a book haul post in AGES, and I figured that has been pretty silly of me. I'm going to do one again, and maybe even some more in the future. So, the following list is of the books I've received for one reason or another in the very recent past. Getting a new book is like Christmas every time, isn't it?

I bought Graceling and Fire
(both by Kristin Cashore) as emergency books because I won an ARC of Bitterblue

I'm so excited to read these! I'll be getting to The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda and The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross very soon, but I won't be reading Velveteen by Daniel Marks for a long time. It's release day is all the way in October, so I'm waiting until September to start reading it. But, I've been waiting for that book for the past year-and-a-half because I've been a huge fan of Danny's vlogs all this time. I remember when he vlogged about editing it, and even when his agent sold the manuscript. Totally exciting!

DeleteGreat haul! I've seen the Patrick Ness books around but for some reason I feel like they'll be too guy influenced for me. Does that even make sense. I've read Girl in the Steel Corset and didn't mind it but the second book isn't a high priority on my list. Although if I received a review copy for free, that would be another story!
ReplyDelete@Lan: Too guy influenced? Well, maybe they are, since Patrick is surely a guy. It might be a nice change of pace from the usual YA romance disguised as a fantasy/sci-fi novel. So tired of those.

Everyone is going crazy for Velveteen. And you're right about Danny Marjs. He's so funny, his book is a must-read.

DeleteOoh, I am intrigued by The Girl with the Clockwork Collar! Can't wait to hear about that one. I just bought Goliath, the third book in the Scott Westerfeld alternative WWII series.
