The Classic Reading Challenge 2012 is a bookish challenge hosted by
Since I've always had a healthy interest in the classics, and I still want to read many of them that I haven't yet, I figured this challenge would be perfect for me this upcoming new year. I'm only going to start out challenging myself to read 3, which is the Level One category. I may end up reading more than that--who knows!
My choices for classic literature to read that I haven't yet for this challenge will be:
1. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (in time for the movie by December 2012!)
2. Persuasion by Jane Austen (always wanted to read it.)
3. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson (this one should be totally fascinating.)

Yay! Another challenger. This is going to be an awesome challenge with you guys participating too. I did my last challenge all alone :( I read The Hobbit years ago but can't exactly remember what happened. Maybe I'll re-read in prep for the movie as well.
ReplyDelete@Lan: Yay! I'm excited because I love reading the classics. So, I'm right here with ya on this one.
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet! I'm trying to keep stress to a minimum and avoid most challenges/deadlines, but I can handle Level 1 for sure. I devoured classics like candy in my teens, but there are a few I'd like to read that I haven't yet...
ReplyDeletePersuasion is a wonderful book, actually my favorite Austen. It's a mature love story, really beautiful.
Jekyll and Hyde is one of my possible choices...need to give it a bit of thought before I decide for sure...
@BJ: Yes, this challenge seems so manageable. And, there's been a lot of classics in my old TBR pile waiting for me to read them for the past decade or so. It's an opportunity to finally get that accomplished.
ReplyDeleteI hope you read Jekyll and Hyde, too! That'd be so fun to see your review of it.
